Austin, Day 2

One day of the swim meet, Jordan didn't swim for a few hours. So Claire and I went to (drumroll, please...) the State Capitol Building! This is number 3 for Claire!

She had more fun when she wasn't posing for the camera.

I think she felt very grown up carrying around a brochure.

I like it that Sam Houston was the President of Texas and the Governor of Texas!

Jump!

Claire went right over to these kids and held that girl's hand all on her own.

I took this picture just because I remember seeing the 10 Commandments at the OK Capitol Building, too.

After walking around inside and outside for a bit, we spread out the blanket and enjoyed the pleasant weather with some snacks, we watched the birds and squirrels, and we fed the birds, too. Then it was back to the pool for Jordan's final races. Sadly, we ate at an incredibly poor Mexican place on our way out of town. Even the chips were bad. Jordan and I ate there once when we were dating, and it was amazing, but times have changed - and not for the better!

Swim Meet

Jordan swims with a Masters swim team. The Masters Southern Zones swim meet was last weekend, so we took a trip to Austin for him to compete. I've never seen him swim like this before, so I was very glad that we could go!

He competed in 100 IM, 50 breaststroke, 100 freestyle, men 200 freestyle relay, mixed 200 freestyle relay, 100 breaststroke, 50 freestyle, and the mixed 200 medley relay. All age groups race together, but he only actually competed against people in his own age group: 30-34. He got 3rd place in the 100 IM, 2nd place in the 50 breast, and 2nd place in the 100 breast. That's pretty good for not having competed in a swim meet for more than 15 years!

He's in lane one, at the top.

Now he's in lane 8, at the bottom.

Lane 7 - second from the bottom here

Claire and I went outside for a couple of hours Saturday afternoon. I spread out a blanket and enjoyed the shade, and Claire played all around.

We had a good time!

Getting Ready to Swim!

Our family went to Austin for a swim meet for Jordan. While at the hotel, Claire began practicing how to swim.

 I love this little Claire!

Bluebonnets

Living in Central Texas allows me to see bluebonnets all the time in the spring! I love it! I've never lived in this part of the state before, so I've never been able to see them during my day-to-day driving around the town. When the popped up a few weeks ago, we were informed of a jackpot field of bluebonnets. This is no joke! They are beautiful! So we stopped for some photos! Enjoy!
