What did you do on your birthday?  I opened presents and had a big dinner. They sang happy birthday to me, and I had cake. 

Dallas Birthday

Since we were in Dallas the week before Claire’s birthday, we had a little party with the family there. We went to Rosa’s for lunch, and then we came back to Grandmom and Granddad’s house and had cupcakes.

Look what Claire can do - now that she’s five!! She was so excited!

We had family over for dinner, cake, and presents. We enjoyed yummy bowtie pasta with an alfredo sauce and grilled chicken. Then Claire opened her presents.

She got lots of great things!

Claire was incredibly specific about what she wanted her cake to look like. - Right down to the chocolate icing swoops with dots and M&Ms.

Dayton enjoyed his cake. Wait, that’s an understatement. He had his hand pressed on his face to hold the cake in his mouth, and he sneezed five times, I think, but he never moved his hand off his face. I tried to move his icing-and-crumb-covered hand away from his eye, but he wouldn’t let me. This boy is serious about cake. - Or “k-k,” as he calls it!

The rest of the kids enjoyed their cake, too.
