Happy Mother’s Day!

I got to see my mom over Mother’s Day weekend! That was a lovely treat! I’m thankful for all she has done and still does for me and for my family! I love you, Mom!

Jordan let me sleep in that day and made me breakfast. I love my sweet, sweet children!

Jordan had to work that night, so I made myself a lovely meal of baked pasta, salad, and bread. I even ate my dinner off of china!

Later in the week, we went to Rosa’s for a Mother’s Day lunch, and sometime soon Jordan’s going to take the kids for a day, and I’ll get a day to myself! What a treat!

The Wall will Always Win, and more

At church a few weeks ago, Dayton ran into the wall at the end of our pew. Literally. He ran straight for the wall, and the wall won, of course. He cried, so I took him into the hall. Throughout the rest of church, people asked me how he was because they said they had heard the thump - of him hitting the wall. He didn’t cry very long and was fine, but he was not left unscathed. He had a grid mark on his forehead to prove that he fought the wall. - I wonder if this is a sign of things to come with him!

Claire being Claire.

Dayton managed to get an arm out of a sleeve before I got him out of bed one morning.

Dayton got into two desk drawers and pulled all the scotch tape off the roll. I’m thankful there wasn’t more damage done in this mess.

Jordan’s Birthday

Jordan and I have somewhat opposite schedules right now, and with Claire going to school a few days a week, also, I knew the only chance we’d have to celebrate Jordan’s birthday all together was during breakfast on his birthday.

So we sang Happy Birthday, and Jordan opened his presents!

Claire had colored pictures and cards for the special occasion.

Jordan got some good gifts, I think.

And he got some good laughs!

Dayton laughed, too!

Jordan and I went out to a nice dinner the night before his birthday. Happy Birthday, Bando!

Dayton - 18 Months

Dayton’s 18 months old! Hooray! I’m thrilled that he can go to nursery now at church! And he looks pretty happy, don’t you think?!

Here, Dayton is doing “so big!” for “How big is Dayton?”

Dayton loves to color, play outside, do what Claire is doing, eat, and get dirty. He likes to look at books and climb onto things. He had a taste of a swimming pool today at Claire’s end of school party, and I think he will LOVE to swim and play in the water during the summer!

He says quite a few words. He can tell you what sounds cows, sheep, dogs, cats, ducks, and dinosaurs make. He says “boo” for peek-a-boo, “ps” for please, “psa” for pizza, and many other words that I can’t think of right now. :-) It’s really sweet when he says please. He says whatever it is that he wants, and then when I figure it out and say, “You want ____?” he smiles and says “ps.” It’s cute.

Now for his 18 month stats:
  • Weight - 25 pounds (he went down in weight - he doesn’t feel like it to me, but they weighed him twice) - 63rd %
  • Length - 32 inches - 37th %
  • Head circumference - 51 cm - >99th%

Married!

Claire and Ryan were playing over here the other day, and they came out of Claire’s room dressed like this. They said they were getting married.

And then they danced.

It was the cutest thing!

Three Kids at a Piano

I have pictures like this of my cousins and me at a piano when we were little. - The cycle continues! :-)

Dayton - 17 Months

Dayton is 17 months old! He looks so big with his new haircut! He talks, runs, plays, colors, blows kisses, and gives high fives. He loves the tick-tock clock (a.k.a. metronome), he loves to eat, and he loves to go crazy in the bathtub! He has started to push and hit. He has strong ideas about what he wants to do, and when those ideas don’t turn out the way he wants them to, he gets upset, and he lets me know he’s upset! He’s a sweet boy, and he’ll rest his head on my shoulder when he gives me a hug. It’s wonderful!

Dayton’s First Haircut

Dayton got his first haircut the day he turned 17 months old. His hair was so long! It was cute and curly, and many people commented to us about how they loved his hair. Someone even told us he had the best hair in our entire ward at church!

But I didn’t like having to use Claire’s tangle spray on his hair. I didn’t like it being in his face all the time. So I finally pretty much insisted that he get a haircut.

Jordan took him to get it cut, and he said that Dayton did a great job and just sat in the chair.

I think he looks so handsome now! And he doesn’t look so little anymore, either.

Fun at Home

Here is a glimpse at some random fun moments from some of our days.

Dayton sometimes hangs out under the black camp chars that guard our fireplace (and the tiny lava rocks) from him.

Claire and Dayton playing (silently, I bet) on the organ.

We saw Aunt Jennifer one night. I’m glad she came, and I’m glad we got to hang out and talk for a little while! (The kids enjoyed playing with her, too!)

Egg Hunt #3

Even though it rained earlier, we were able to have one last egg hunt outside. This time it was at Grandmom and Granddad’s house. The kids found lots of eggs.

Dayton even picked up a few!

Sweet Lilly

Dayton really enjoyed getting dirty!
