Today is Claire’s first day of Pre-K! She’s excited, and so am I! There are a couple of kids from her class last year who are in her class this year, and Ryan is also in her class this year. I know she’ll have a great time this year!

Dayton - 9 Months
Dayton’s reached the 9 month milestone! As usual, it’s hard to believe it’s already been 9 months. Wow!
More of his sweet little personality is shining through these days. He’s pretty happy to play with a basketful of toys. He also started having "conversations" with us. He’ll do this fake laugh thing, and then we do it, and he does it back. It’s cute!
He is needy for his mamma at times. That’s usually when he needs to burp, eat, go to sleep, or be comforted in some way. If he’s fussy with someone else and then I take him, he frequently stops fussing -- pretty much immediately.
Dayton’s had a big month full of milestones, too.
Dayton’s 9 month stats
He is very content to army crawl. I occasionally see him lift his body up and crawl on hands and knees, but it seems like he doesn’t really care to crawl that way. And since he can pull himself up now, he spends a lot of time doing that!
He just might be getting better at sleeping through the night. With the penicillin reaction, an ear infection, getting two teeth, and just being a baby, he’s had a difficult time sleeping through the night. {I didn’t enjoy the 3:30am wake-up call each day!} But during this past week he has done much, much better at sleeping ALL through the night. And I’m so, SO thankful!!!
Dayton loves to see Claire. I enjoy seeing them interact. I love hearing Dayton laugh and laugh when Claire or someone else does something he thinks is funny.

Dayton’s had a big month full of milestones, too.
- He sat up by himself for the first time during the last week of July.
- He tried to pull himself up for the first time during the first week of August.
- He got his first tooth on August 9.
- He got his second tooth on August 13.
- He pulled himself up (successfully!) for the first time during the second week of August.
- And he had an allergic reaction all over his body -- probably to penicillin -- while we were on vacation in Arkansas during the first week of August. (Pictures to come).
Dayton’s 9 month stats
- Weight - 20 pounds, 8 ounces - 66th%
- Length - 26 inches - 35th%
- Head circumference - 48 cm - 99th%

Dayton, Lillian, & Aunt Jenn
It was fun to see these two babies play next to each other! They are about the same height, and Lillian is older, but Dayton seems bigger to me. He's more chunky, and Lillian is much more petite.

Peter & Kelly's Engagement Party
Over the weekend we went to Dallas so we could go to Peter and Kelly's engagement party. It was at the Mesquite Rodeo, and we had a great time!
Peter and Mom danced a bit
Peter with Dad and his soon-to-be father-in-law, Paul
The bride, Kelly
The groom, Peter
They look good!
The rodeo was fun to watch!
Here's the limo that Peter and Kelly got picked up in to come to the rodeo!

Claire’s Babies
I’m so glad Claire has so much fun with her babies! I found all these babies sitting like this on her bed one day. What fun!

Grandmom’s Birthday
My mom came here for a few days a while back, and she arrived on her birthday! I made some brownies for us to have to celebrate, and I told Claire it was Grandmom’s birthday. - She was certainly excited! She colored lots of pictures for Grandmom, and we wrapped them up. We also decorated a tiny little bit. Claire loved the party, (which was simply eating brownies and watching Grandmom open a few presents). Hopefully my mom loved it, too! :-)

Bruises
Now that Dayton’s a little mover, he’s getting his fair share of bruises. He has two on his forehead in these pictures - they kind of join to look like a “7."
At least he’s still a happy little guy!

Shelf Time
Dayton likes to play with his toys, but he also likes to try to climb in the shelf. Sometimes he’s pretty successful!
He did this stance for a while - up on his hands and feet. I like it. Now he can sit up by himself, so he doesn’t really do it anymore. But it’s still cute!
