School Project

Claire’s school is holding an international festival and dinner in a few weeks. She had to decorate this body to represent a country from around the world. She chose America. I like how the person turned out! I did cut out the person after I took the picture, but I didn’t think to get a picture of Claire holding the person. Oh well!

P.S. Do you like Claire’s clothes? She chose them herself. :-)

Like Mother, Like Doll?

Claire’s doll needed to feed her baby. So Claire got a burp cloth and the boppy and put her doll in the same place I sit when I feed Dayton.

Claire also feeds her babies sometimes. She’ll pull her shirt up and feed her little babies. She’ll sometimes say that she forgot to feed her baby last night. It’s a good thing they don’t mind missing a meal or two!

More from Dallas

Here are a few random pictures from our time in Dallas earlier this month.

Claire played with Marcus and later Taylor out by the HUGE pile of sticks.

Here’s the stick fort that Taylor built. (This day, Claire told me that playing out here with Marcus was her favorite thing from that day!)

Claire and my mom listened as Marcus read to them.

And one day Margie came over! It was so fun to catch up with her! We haven’t done that in years!

My mom enjoyed some quality time with Dayton!

Claire got some dress up clothes for Christmas, and she has loved playing with them!

Visit from Taylor & Peter

Before Christmas, Peter, Taylor, and my parents came to see us for a day. This was Peter and Taylor’s first time meeting Dayton, so I made sure to take some pictures.

Claire enjoyed playing with Taylor! Just this morning she told me that Taylor is her best friend, and she asked when he’s coming again.

Taylor, thanks for playing with Claire!

Dayton - 2 Months

Dayton is 2 months old now!

These days he wakes up, eats, is happy for about an hour, and then needs to sleep. If he doesn’t wake up to eat three hours after the last time he ate, then I wake him up, he eats, and we start the whole cycle over again. At night I keep him up and feed him two hours apart. Then Jordan swaddles him, and I put him down for the night. He’s a good boy! He definitely knows who I am. Jordan tells me all the time that Dayton is much more happy with me than with him. I guess I just spend a lot of time with the little guy, so we’ve figured each other out a bit!

Dayton started smiling at us last week! That’s so fun!

2 month stats:
Weight - 12 pounds, 7 ounces - 54th %
Length - 23 inches - 50th %
Head Circumference - 41.5 cm - 98th %

We love you, Dayton!

Super Sleeper!

Dayton has been SUCH an incredible sleeper!!!! (As always, I hope I’m not jinxing myself by bragging on him!) For at least the past three weeks or so, he has typically slept between 7 and 9 hours at night. I can recall two nights during the past three weeks when he didn’t sleep all night. Considering the fact that he’s only 8 weeks old, I think that’s amazing! And I’m so incredibly thankful that he’s such a super sleeper!

Kiddos

I love this picture of Claire!

And why not throw in one of Dayton, too?!!

More Christmas Fun

Back in December we had some more Christmas fun. One night we had a family movie night with snacks that we got to eat in the living room! Wow! We watched The Grinch.

Dayton sported some festive attire.

And Claire played with her felt nativity set.

I think that wraps up all of the Christmas blog posts!

Hervey Christmas

On our “Christmas morning,” we checked out our stockings, we had yummy sausage freezes and yummy cinnamon rolls for breakfast, and we opened presents. It was great fun! We are so blessed!

Cousins having fun!

Dad had to bring this gift to Peter inside on a dolly!

Marcus was the bow king. As he got more and more bows, I kept taking pictures of him because I was sure he would take off all these bows, or I figured he would not want me to take pictures of him anymore. But he just kept on claiming bows! I like the back view the best.

And this is my Granddad Hervey’s master’s hood from Texas Tech, 1931. Awesome.

Dayton enjoyed his long winter nap.

With that, our Christmas festivities were all finished! Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Hervey Christmas Eve

The Hervey’s delayed their Christmas celebration until everyone could be there. So we celebrated Christmas Eve and Christmas again in January! We had our fun Christmas Eve party with family and friends.

It was so fun to see Kelly AND Lauren and their sweet families!! (We missed you, Betsy & Lenny!)

We enjoyed the crackers - complete with paper crowns.

And we loved playing White Elephant. We had some repeat gifts, as usual. But this one has been gone for a long, long time. Jennifer wasn’t too happy as she saw what she had opened. (Marcus’s face says a lot about the gift, too!)

These folks couldn’t believe their eyes.

So what was it? Elvis!!!!!

We had lots of fun. Jordan got there just as the party was getting started. - He surprised us because he hadn’t let me know that he had gotten off of work early. I’m glad he was able to be there, too!

Cooper Christmas

After we finished our Christmas at home, we drove to Houston to spend the rest of the day with family. We enjoyed spending time together, opening presents, talking, and eating.

I love the different expressions on their faces - “Sweet!” vs. “Uugghh - really?”

Dayton was lovingly passed from person to person.

Brothers. Relaxing.

Our little family on Christmas!
