Happy Birthday, Laura!

Happy Birthday, Laura! Her birthday was March 3, and I got to be in Lubbock with her for it! (I'm just slow at getting things up on the blog!) It was fun! She drove me around town and showed me the new stuff that's there. I was able to go with her to her choir class, which was fun and interesting. I went to church with her and saw a few people I know from when I was at Tech. I was also reminded about dorm life. - I got to wear flip flops in the shower and everything! We had a good time! I especially enjoyed eating at Abuelo's and Rosa's! I miss Rosa's!

Here we are in Laura's room once she had turned 19!

Here's the same basic picture with less zoom - notice how fun and friendly her room is!!!

Here are Laura's friends who came to wish her a happy birthday just minutes after midnight!

Here is the card that Taylor sent Laura. He obviously chose the card himself. Look closely - it says, "Look Who's 2!" Taylor crossed out the 2 and wrote 19! How cute!

We went to Chili's for lunch and had to eat super fast so that we wouldn't be late to choir!

Auf Wiedersehen

Our good friends Mandi and Arnold moved to Germany this week! We wish them the best! We are certainly going to miss seeing them and their cute little boy, Samuel. Here are some pictures.

Sam over at our house one night. (Since we don't have a child of our own, we enjoy "borrowing" other people's children for pictures!) Isn't he cute?

Sam was trying to pull himself up with the table, but pretty soon after this photo he got pretty frustrated!

Rodeo Houston!

Howdy, y'all! The rodeo's in town, so come on over and enjoy some good ol' entertainment and BBQ with us! To help get in the mood, Jordan decided that we should go to Academy so he could try on some boots. (Okay, so that's not really how it happened. We were already at Academy, and he just wanted to go to the boot aisle). I must say that he was disappointed in the lack of selection, but he decided to stick with the "Basics" of the Justin boots for our purposes while we were there.

"Basic" View #1 - You can see that the boots are nice and shiny, and he assured me that RJ's boots were ALWAYS shined before church each week!

"Basic" View #2 - Here, Jordan has already become more comfortable in his boot-wearing, as you can see by the way his stance changed from View #1 to View #2.

Full Body View #1 - Jordan is not exactly sure how to look here. His feet look comfortable in the boots, but he hasn't fully gotten used to the"Cowboy Way" that goes along with the boots.

Full Body View #2 - As is easily noticed in this shot, Jordan is getting excited about wearing these boots. He is feeling more and more like RJ every second, and he almost doesn't know what to do with himself!

Full Body View #3 - At complete ease in his cowboy boots, Jordan is imagining his hand resting on the back of his horse, (instead of on that shelf of shoes!) He would probably ride his horse down to the barber shop for a little shave if he could!

If the big city ever drives you crazy and you feel a need to get back to the "Basics," just saddle up and ride on over to your local sporting goods store and try on some Justin "Basics" Boots. Don't forget to say "Howdy" to the store clerk and to give a little "YEEHAW" when you're excited, and you'll be good to go for a while!
