In honor of the Winter Olympics...

... there was snow on Friday in 49 of the 50 states!!! - Hawaii was the only state where it didn't snow!

I didn't get to see the Winter Wonderland in Dallas in person, but here are pictures of my parents' home and yard. I think these are absolutely gorgeous and stunningly beautiful!

Bandeaux's Gone Cajun!

Jordan was accepted to CRNA school!!!! We are sooooooo excited, and I am so happy for and proud of him! He has been on pins and needles for a week while he checked the mail religiously waiting for a letter. It turns out that they called him, instead. He will be attending Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge this fall.

Tonight we went to Taste of Texas with Jordan's parents to celebrate.

Jordan seriously enjoyed his steak!

I enjoyed my steak, too, but I also enjoyed my dessert! (I got key lime pie; it's just not pictured here).

So we'll be moving to Baton Rouge sometime this summer. What a year we're having so far! - And we're only just beginning!!! :-)

BIG News

Yesterday I went to the doctor for my 32-week check-up, and I got an ultra-sound! - Those are always fun! Everything looks good with our baby girl.

When the ultra-sound tech measured the stomach and the head to come up with the weight of the baby, she got 6.5 pounds. - I'm only at week 32! So she asked me when I'm due. When I told her April 3, she decided to re-measure the stomach and the head. This time, she came up with 5.4 pounds, which is nicer, but that's still a big baby!

Then I went in to see the doctor. I told her that the ultra-sound tech said I have a big baby right now, and the doctor definitely agreed! She said it might be that our baby has had a recent growth spurt and will "even out" within the next few weeks, or she'll just keep on growing at this rate. She said if that's the case, she'll probably be 7.5 pounds at week 36. (And I'm just thinking YIKES!!!!) The doctor also asked which of us, Jordan and me, was a big baby. We explained that Jordan was a big baby and that the average weight of the four children his mother had was 10 pounds. And it turns out I wasn't too shabby, either; I was 8 pounds, 3 ounces.

I'm so happy and grateful that our baby seems to be very healthy. It will be interesting to see how this ends up. - People at work today were telling me their own stories, including ones like, "my doctor said my baby was 8 pounds, but when he was born, he was only 6 pounds, 7 ounces." - So I know these measurements are basically guesstimates. But that's our BIG news - we've been told we have a BIG baby!

Here are the ultra-sound pictures. You can see the profile pretty well in the top pictures. In the bottom left picture, she has her arm and hand up by her face. The bottom right picture shows her foot. Her toes are sticking out to the right.
