On Claire’s birthday, she woke up to a present and a balloon!
I love the look on her face when I told her what her shirt says: five.
Of course, she had the breakfast of birthday girls: sausage biscuits.
Dayton enjoyed the biscuit and didn’t touch the sausage, of course.
Now she’s ready for school. I love her sweet face!
I took a birthday treat to school, and Claire was thrilled to have me there for a little while.
Blowing out the candles!
She seemed to have a great day at school that day!
And then it was Taco Bell for lunch. - What a special birthday treat! (And I just love the look on her face here, too!)
There’s more birthday fun to come!

Dayton - 16 Months
Here’s our big little guy! He’s 16 months old now, (and that means only two months until nursery!!!!) He definitely loves his mama these days! It doesn’t matter who comes close to him. - It could be Jordan, or it could be a stranger. - But he’ll point at me and say “Mama.”
He has started sleeping in the mornings until 7am or later, which is nice. He has also started taking only one nap a day, which is nice when it’s a long nap, but it’s no fun when it’s only an hour and a half.
He loves to climb, play, eat fruit and bread, and drink milk. He loves balls, and he loves to throw things - ball or not. He likes to look at books, but he rarely sits still long enough to look at one entire book. He loves the whale that he sleeps with, and he likes to throw it in his bed for next time. He loves to play peek-a-boo. If a word starts with m or b or d, he’ll say a syllable that begins with that letter to mean that word. - So he says ball, bib, banana, etc. in similar ways. He tries to say baby by saying “ba-ba.” He says mom, milk, moo, and more in similar ways. He says dad, Desitin, and maybe other d words that aren’t coming to mind right now.
I do still love to see the brotherly-sisterly love between these two kiddos! Dayton is big, and I love every bit of him!

Fruit Pops
Claire made some fruit pops at her kitchen set one day.
She loves to watch cooking shows, and she loves to play with her kitchen set. She frequently takes play food and play dishes into her room during quiet time so she can play with them.

Hair Dew - Claire Dew - Mom Dew
One of Claire’s nicknames is Claire Dew Hair Dew. The other day, Claire did my hair while I was playing the piano, so I had a new hair do. I was happy to play the piano, and Claire was happy to turn me into a bow head.
