Back on August 9th, Taylor turned 5 years old! His age is now a whole hand! We were in Dallas that weekend, and we were sooooo excited to be able to celebrate his birthday with him! He was the star of the day at the Hervey house!
Peter handed Taylor a present and told him that it was from Granddad. At that point, Granddad looked surprised and said, "It is?" Taylor opened it and found a toy chainsaw!!! He was thrilled because now, when Granddad and Peter are outside cutting down trees and branches, he can help with his own chainsaw!
He got started right away by cutting off Grandmom's hand!
Peter and Taylor
Laura lit the candles and brought the cake to the table,
and Taylor blew them out before we were even finished singing Happy Birthday! He was so excited!
After blowing out the candles, Taylor went straight to his new toys. He set up this new race track and had fun racing the cars. It seems like he had a great day!
Happy Birthday, Taylor!

Nephews in Dallas!
A couple of weeks ago, we went to Dallas for a weekend, and we got to see both of our nephews who live up there.
Here is Marcus with Grandmom having some fun in the pool.
And here is Taylor being creative with the noodles in the pool. (See the water coming out of the top end?)
Granddad suggested that he and Taylor have a chicken fight on the noodles, but Taylor didn't like the "rules" he found out about that game!
It was great to see Marcus and Taylor (and everyone else!) that weekend. And the coolest thing of all was that we got to see all three of our nephews at the same time! Stephen, Mel, and Kyle came to Dallas with us for Chris and Rebecca's wedding, and we were all there together for a while. I wanted a picture of us with all of our nephews, and I think it turned out great!

Coming or Going?
With the fast pace of this world, it's hard to tell if you're coming or going these days. Stephen is definitely going - all the way to Miami. Chris needs to slow down, as certain people can attest. And Jordan needs to stop. Stop doing what? I'm not sure. Maybe he just needs a weekend off, since he's working now!

Happy National Watermelon Day!
That's right, folks! It's National Watermelon Day! Aren't you excited?!! You should be! :-)
We celebrated by going to Jordan's parents house and having some fun. We played Phase 10.
Kyle showed us where his ears are.
And then the real fun began. We honored the day by placing our hands on the watermelon itself.
Kyle played with it a little bit.
And then we ate! Well, I ate it, at least. (I had a meeting in the evening and had to leave early, so I honestly don't know who else REALLY celebrated National Watermelon Day, but at least they indulged me for a little while!)
And for those of you who don't know, I once had a party celebrating National Watermelon Day. Are any of you folks out there? Enjoy the memories!

Memory Tag
Here's how it works:
1. Add a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. I can't wait to see what people remember.
I tag everyone reading my Blog!
