6 Weeks Old

I think it's silly to say that it has taken me almost six weeks, (because I figured this out a few days ago), to determine that Claire has red hair. When she was born, it looked strawberry blonde to me. Other people, strangers and friends/family alike, have commented about her blonde hair. Well, a few days ago, I saw Claire in the sunlight, and her hair no longer looks blonde to me - it looks red! And I think these pictures show her red hair pretty well, despite the red sheets in the background!

Today Claire heard some poems from Where the Sidewalk Ends. She was pretty calm while I read them. She heard her dad's favorite poem from that book - "The Crocodile's Toothache."

She has started to make a few sounds besides her usual cries, burps, and grunts. And she will respond sometimes to loud noises. (Thankfully she has not woken up from sleep because of loud noises, though!) She smiles as she goes to sleep. She gets the hiccups a lot. She will suck on her hands when we try to get her to burp in the middle of her eating. She makes funny faces and will sometimes follow the sound of certain voices, (like Mom's and Dad's). She sticks out her tongue a lot, and she moves her arms and legs like crazy when she's fully awake or getting her diaper changed.

Claire: Incognito

Claire is my clandestine child. She likes to hide out. She likes to think she can't be seen. But oh how wrong she is! Every time she tries to be incognito, I grab the camera and capture the moment!! Here are some examples.

April 13 -- 2:54pm

April 20 -- 8:55am

April 20 -- 8:55am (This view shows she COULD be seen from the side!)

April 20 -- 10:05am (An hour after the above two pictures, she has become somewhat visible from the front, too).

April 21 -- 2:40pm (Notice that her blanket identifies her, even if we weren't sure who was hiding beneath it).

April 22 -- 5:58pm

April 23 -- 11:00am

April 27 -- 7:25pm

May 3 - 2:04pm

All Dressed Up!

Yesterday Jordan got Claire ready for church. Didn't he do a GREAT job?!!! I think so, too!

It's not always easy to get a good picture with a 5 week old!

And yes, he really did choose the bow and put it on her sweet little head! (She's already got him wrapped around her finger!!!)

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Jordan!

All week, Jordan has been planning to play golf this morning. But last night he said, "I think I'm too tired to play golf tomorrow. I just want to sleep in." (And just moments after that, he entered his DEEP sleep mode!) But this morning he stirred after I fed Claire, and he decided to get up and go play. And guess what present awaited him at the course?!! He shot his BEST EVER round of golf! He shot a 79! He said that's the first time he's ever shot in the 70's. Way to go, Bandeaux!!!

Then we went to Brother's Pizza for lunch. He thoroughly enjoyed his pizza, (and I enjoyed my pasta!)

Jordan and his dad worked together to plant some herbs we bought. Jordan has wanted to plant herbs for quite some time now, so I'm glad he accomplished that today.

Later on, it was time to open presents. Jordan was excited that Claire got him something!

And the present was... Dad's first picture of his little girl! (Thanks for the frame from Christmas time, Jon!)

More presents... Can you guess who's excited?

Then we went to Pappadeaux for dinner.

This is how Claire spent her dad's birthday dinner! (Good girl, Claire!)

And then it was dessert time when we got back home.

I hope you've had a GREAT birthday, Bando. I love you very much! Happy Birthday!
