Cheerios

 Jordan put Claire on top of the refrigerator.

  She wasn't quite sure what to think of it.

Until she saw the Cheerios! Then she was excited to be up there! 

When she sits in her high chair, (which happens much more frequently than sitting on the fridge!) Claire likes to point to the Cheerios on top of the fridge, and she says a mixture of a CH and an SH sound. That means Cheerios. But the ironic thing is that she doesn't eat many Cheerios if she has something else on her tray to eat. But at least she knows where and what they are!

Have a Ball!

Claire likes this ball. It has a rattle inside, and she'll carry it, shake it, hug it, give it to me to have me roll it away so she can get it, or pretend like she'll give it to me - only to fake me out and keep it for herself. Claire loves her ball!

 And I love her smile!

Patio Garden

Here are some pictures of our little patio garden!  Every morning I open the blinds in the kitchen, and this is what I get to see! It's fun!

 

 We have a green pepper plant and some parsley,

 

The Creole tomato is a hybrid that was developed at LSU to withstand the elements in Baton Rouge. I hope ours is fruitful!

 

We also have basil. I LOVE basil! We've already used it in a few of our meals, and I'm so glad we have it! It's much cheaper (and definitely more fun) to get some basil from the patio than it is to buy some fresh basil every time we want to use it. My experience with fresh basil from the store is that it doesn't last very long. And this way, we have fresh basil on hand. - I don't have to plan when I want to use it; it's just here!

 I also LOVE having these Gerber Daisies! (These were our wedding flowers!)

Right now not all of our plants are flourishing, but hopefully I can mend my ways (and figure out the plants) before the plants die!

Thanks for your help, Mom, with getting me started with these!  It's fun!

Capitol Building

When my mom was here, we went to the Capitol Building. The azaleas are in bloom all around town, and they are gorgeous!!!!!

I was a bit worried when we pulled up because there were a few school buses there, and lots of kids were waiting to get in the building. I thought they were all going to be in front of us in the line to go to the observation deck. Thankfully, however, they must have been doing something educational first, so we didn't have to wait at all to go to the top!


(It was windy!!)
It was beautiful to see the azaleas from the top, too!
