Peter's Graduation

Back during the weekend of all weekends, (bridal shower, pinning ceremony, law school graduation, nursing school graduation, wedding, reception), Peter graduated from law school!

The graduation ceremony itself was not the best. I don't think the "emcee" had ever been in charge of a graduation before because he said things like, "Well, I think we're supposed to do this now" and "That's just like it is in class. I tell my students to do something, and no one listens." (He had told the students to begin the recessional, but I'm sure they were waiting for the music to start, but the musicians were waiting for the colors to be removed. But the guy just kept talking and waiting, so the musicians started the recessional before the colors were removed). He didn't make it the most professional it could have been! The speakers were not too exciting, either. I especially didn't like the fact that someone from the alumni association told the soon-to-be grads that they should give money back to their school. (Does he not realize that, one, they hadn't even graduated yet, and two, all the students will be paying back their student loans for a long while??!!!) But regardless of all of that we waited for his name to be called, and then, boy, did we ever cheer!!!

It was great because we told Taylor to listen for Peter's name and then to yell, "Go, Dad!" So Peter's name was called, and we all cheered loudly, and then as we quieted down, Taylor yelled, "Go, Dad!" Everyone around us laughed, and Peter said he actually heard it, too! (Correct me if I'm wrong, Pete!)

Peter has worked very hard these past three years to do his school work and be a great dad at the same time. Those are difficult tasks to accomplish at the same time, but he did very well. I am very proud of him!

Here's the happy graduate!

And here is Taylor and his dad!

Peter's friend from high school, Lance, came from Dallas for his graduation!
