Fenway Park!

Well, I've finally reached the end of our trip to Boston. I didn't blog about this trip in any particular order, which is evidenced by the fact that my last post about it is actually the first thing we did in Boston.

When our flight landed, we got our luggage and took a taxi to our hotel. Then we took a taxi to Fenway Park to see the Boston Red Sox play the New York Yankees! Thanks to SCOO, who has a connection, we scored some incredible tickets. Thank you so much! :-)

Talk about a good match up! That day, the Red Sox and the Yankees were tied for the lead of the American League. What a game to see! What a rivalry to experience!

Fenway Park will turn 100 years old next year, and it definitely has the feel of and is organized like a 100-year old stadium. It's extremely small, compared to other stadiums I've been to. It seemed a little quirky, too. But it was definitely awesome to be there!

He's loving it!

And so did I -- when I wasn't getting in trouble by the usher. We were in the last row of the front section, and there was an usher right behind us. I got in trouble twice. The first time was for taking a picture while the play was happening. (I had just seen a guy beside us take a picture, and I realized that, in all the rush to get to the ballpark as quickly as possible, I forgot my camera. So when that guy was finished taking pictures, I stood up to take some with my phone. I had waited my turn, I thought. But by then the play had started again, so the usher yelled for me to sit down and not take pictures while they were playing).

Later on, I decided to stand behind my seat for a little while, since there was an aisle there, and since the chairs were getting more and more uncomfortable as the game went on. (No new, luxurious, or even slightly padded chairs here!) The usher touched me on the shoulder and told me to get out of the aisle. He was a middle-aged man who sounded like he had lived in Boston his whole life. Thankfully, I didn't get into any more trouble!

Part of the 7th-inning stretch!

The Red Sox lost that game, but they went on to win the next two of the series. Jordan can't really stand either the Red Sox or the Yankees, but it was still awesome to get to go to that game! What a classic match-up at a classic ballpark! We had a great time!
