Thankful for: New Life

I'm thankful for new life - especially when I'm related to that beautiful new life! On October 4, my sister Laura had her baby boy. He's a miracle. New life is always a miracle, but to me, he is especially a miracle. To keep a long story short, Laura was put on and off of bed-rest a couple of times and was going to be induced early. When she was in the hospital to be induced, the staff determined that she needed an emergency C-section. So they got everything in order and got this beautiful boy safely out of the womb. The issue? The umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck three times AND it was tied in a knot. Yikes! How thankful we are for Laura's inspired doctor, who ordered an ultrasound one day without having any medical reason to order it.

His name is Belton Matthew Tovar. Belton is his great grandfather's name. Matthew is his dad's name. I love names with meaning!

Claire and I made the trip up to Dallas once we knew Belton was on his way. I'm so glad we got to see him and our family members, too!

Some kids were interested in the new baby.

And some were not.

Betsy was in town, so she came by to see Laura and Belton, too.

 Look at that hair!

Congrats, Laura and Matt! We love Belton!
