Leather School

In Florence, we had a great cab ride to our hotel. Our cab driver was very nice and told us that the best thing to do in Florence was just to walk around and take it all in! He told us that Italians love tourists, and he told us it is good that we are women - because Italians really respect women. The example he gave was about Italians respecting their mothers. It was nice.

He also told us about a great place to eat lunch that was near our hotel. We ended up finding it, and it was really good! The bathroom was a bit sketchy, (there was no top seat of the toilet, and I couldn't get the water to turn on, but I had already put soap on my hands, and there were no paper towels, so I came out and wiped my soapy hands on a napkin!) But the food was good, and we were definitely eating with locals, not tourists!

Then we kept walking towards the center of town, and we saw a sign for a leather school. We decided to go check it out. The building was pretty neat.

Inside, we saw a few people working, and we looked around at some finished leather goods, too.

Here's a courtyard in the middle of the leather school.
I don't think we ever found the actual "school" part of the leather school, but it was fun!
